The Upstate has a lot to offer. A LOT. We know it, you know it, and our partners at Ten at The Top know it. That is why they have created their quick and easy asset maps. What exactly is an asset map? These asset maps are interactive maps that show you how to access all of the great services and amenities in the Upstate. They currently have six asset maps, but are diligently working on more so that you can make the most out of your Upstate.

He’s the fixer, the handyman, and yes, he loves to embarrass you. We’re talking about your dear old dad. He does so much for you throughout the year (including trying to be “cool”), so isn’t it time you showed him how much you appreciate him? Ditch the tie or the cheesy mugs for something more unique. Granted, there is nothing wrong with a tie, but a man can only have so many.
It is the best of times, but it can also produce the most boring of times. I’m talking about summer. The kids are out of school, the sun is high in the sky, and you’re…well you’re looking for a way to keep the kids entertained and yourself sane. Fret not, dear Upstaters, we’ve got just the solution, seven of them to be exact! We’ve rounded up some ways to keep the young ones having fun that are also unique. Think of all the stories they’ll have when they go back to school. You’re getting “Cool Parent” points already. Here are Seven Summer Activities To Keep Your Kids Off The Couch.
You know what they say, if you don’t like the weather in the Upstate, just wait a few minutes. If they don’t say that, then they should. The weather here can be temperamental, to say the least. This is compounded when it comes to rain, whether a spring shower or a mid-season hurricane, there are some days where being in the Upstate can be pretty damp. But you must not let this rain on your parade, Upstaters! There are still so many fun things you can do across the Upstate. Here is the ITK Guide to having a bright rainy day.
As some of you know, my son Bennett has special needs. To be exact, he suffered an intrauterine stroke that left him with left-sided weakness, developmental delays (including speech, fine motor, and large motor), sensory sensitivity, and Cortical Visual Impairment (a form of visual impairment that is caused by a brain problem rather than an eye problem). The more I learn about Bennett and his needs, the harder it is to find things to do with him that he will actually enjoy. There are so many questions we have to ask when we are searching for fun activities. Will it be loud? Is it wheelchair accessible? Can he do it with one hand? Am I going to be worried about him getting hurt or having a meltdown the whole time?
