There are scores of sports leagues for the kiddies across the Upstate. Every sport and every season imaginable are represented letting your little one get a jumpstart on their pro dreams. However, what about us adults? What if we want to play sports? Maybe it is too late for us to make the big leagues (we can still dream), but we too crave the athleticism and camaraderie of playing on a team. You’re in luck! Greenville Sports League
With the biggest bang for your buck, Greenville Sports League offer a plethora of sports. In fact, during a quick scan of their page, there were eight different sports leagues listed. There were adult leagues for basketball, cornhole, flag football, kickball, soccer, softball, ultimate frisbee, and volleyball. Another thing of note, the FAQ page of Greenville Sports League is exhaustive. There were answers to questions I didn’t even know I had. If you aren’t super keen on playing, but still want to be involved, there are also opportunities to be a referee. Play ball (and other sports) with the Greenville Sports League.
Anderson County Adult Sports
If you are looking for a more traditional sports experience (who needs kickball), then sign up for Anderson County Adult Sports. In the Electric City, they are playing basketball, flag football, softball, tennis baseball, and volleyball. No, that isn’t an omitted comma, tennis baseball is a thing. It isn’t anything crazy, it is just baseball with a tennis ball. That at least means it will hurt less when your pitcher realizes they need to hone their skills. Spartanburg YMCA Adult Sports
Get official with the Spartanburg YMCA and their Adult Sports Leagues. Like other leagues, they offer basketball, volleyball, soccer, and flag football. However, they differ by offering two sports that aren’t implicitly prominent. For one, you can enjoy a rousing game of Pickleball. No, there is no actual pickle involved. The game is a combination of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Spartanburg YMCA also offers a Cabbage league. Cabbage, other than a leafy green, is also a softball-like sport originating from Louisiana. For something a little different, join a league with Spartanburg YMCA Adult Sports.
Upward Star Center
Are you looking to shoot some hoops? Then you are going to want to visit Upward Star Center in Spartanburg. This faith-based facility is a hub for all things basketball. They offer both children’s and adult leagues. Even more, they offer leagues for both men and women. The space itself is incredible, spacious, and modern. While not necessarily for adults, Upward does offer something unique. The Upstate Bearcats are a sports league for homeschooled students. It is nothing but net at Upward Star Center.
Palmetto Volleyball Association
Serve it! Bump it! Spike it! Those are about the only volleyball terms I know, but if you are interested in learning more, then the Palmetto Volleyball Association (headquartered in Ninety Six). This is your go-to resource for Volleyball leagues across the states. You’ll find that no matter where you are, a volleyball league is not far away. They can also help you find a low-cost league.
