5 Patios To Get Your Drink On: Anderson Edition
Over the past few months, we at In The Know Upstate have been highlighting patios all over the Upstate for you to get your food and drink on. So far, we have shown you patios focused in Greenville and Spartanburg, and now we are expanding even further. This time we are showing Anderson some patio love! So pull up a seat and grab a drink. Here are 5 Upstate Patios to get your drink on the Anderson edition!
On Main Street Anderson, Summa Joe’s is serving simple, local, and fresh cuisine with an Italian flair. The patio at Summa Joe’s is Main Street adjacent, so the people watching is top-notch. With food this good, you won’t have time to look at your surrounding, because you’ll be laser focused on your plate (seriously, look at pictures of their food). With fresh specials daily and a large menu to choose from, there is something for everyone at Summa Joe’s. Try one of their specialty pizzas like the Bluegrass Pizza, which puts ham, grits, greens, and chow chow on a pizza! Wash it down with a refreshing beverage, and you’ll be a Summa Joe’s fan for life. For more on Summa Joe’s visit their Facebook page here.
With a slogan like “Eat. Drink. Do Little,” Doolittle’s on Main Street Anderson is the perfect place to get your snack and sip on. A private patio overlooks Main Street, and an extensive food and drink menu (these seafood dishes will have you drooling). Doolittle’s is offering everything you crave with an experience that has a personal touch. Pair any of their enticing appetizers or entrees with a beverage from the sizable wine and beer list. Doolittle’s also has a revolving choice of specials, so you can always get something new and exciting. Are you ready to do little (other than eat and drink, of course.)? Then head over to their website here.
Viva Wine Bar
What do you get when you combine wine, games, a comfortable patio, and a local friendly atmosphere? You get Viva Wine Bar on East Church Street in Anderson. Viva Wine Bar is an Italian-inspired Wine Bar tucked away here in upstate South Carolina. Viva offers many different wines for many different tastes. Sip a white or a red on the shaded patio and enjoy the gorgeous Upstate weather (fall is fast approaching). That’s not all, but they also offer some fun activities. If you are feeling adventurous, participate in the Wall of Wine. For $10 you will go home with a bottle of wine, but which wine you end up with depends on how you play the game. If you are looking for big craft beer flavors and a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy them in, you’ll want to head to the Growler Haus on Main Street Anderson. The Growler Haus has a patio area on Main Street where you can sample from their menu that includes a rotating list of incredible microbrews and craft beers (all of them sound amazing). The folks at Growler Haus have created a rustic atmosphere so that you feel at ease during your visit. You can bring your own Growlers (typically a glass bottle) and fill them up with your favorite brews. This makes for a unique experience unlike going to a regular bar or buying beer from a grocery store? Are you ready to growl? Visit their website here!
The Uptown Lounge
Serving Anderson for over 40 years, The Uptown Lounge is a downtown staple. The lounge has seven TVs and delectable food, but the real party is on the patio. The patio also includes a grassy yard area where you can sample one of the house’s signature cocktails. The Uptown Lounge offers twists on traditional cocktails like a Cherry Cosmo, or a Reverse Margarita (orange instead of lime). They also offer quirkier cocktails and shots (one is playfully named a Duck Fart and is made with Irish cream and Kahlua). With a fun atmosphere and killer drinks (one is called the Blueberry Kamikaze), it is no surprise that The Uptown Lounge has been a part of the Anderson scene for 40 years.
